About Richard Harvey

Richard Harvey is a Specialist Periodontist, based in Melbourne, focusing on the treatment of periodontitis, muco-gingival surgery and implant surgery.

Richard completed his general dental training at the University of Adelaide, graduating with the Dean’s Award for academic and clinical excellence. In his final year, he undertook the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons’ Primary Examinations, earning Examiners’ Commendations for his results.

After several years in general practice, Richard pursued specialist training in periodontics at the University of Melbourne. His research explored the relationship between periodontal disease and the vitamin D-binding protein, earning first-class honours for his thesis.

Alongside his clinical work, Richard has served as an examiner for dental programs at several Australian universities and is currently a clinical demonstrator in the University of Melbourne’s Doctor of Dental Surgery program.

Committed to ongoing learning and knowledge-sharing, Richard is an active participant in dental education, both as a conference presenter and as an attendee.
